The cluster sets up and supervises multi-partners R&D projects dealing with fibers and threads, the development of multifunctional textiles or textiles as a flexible material (3D textiles, composite materials...).

TECHTERA is a wide network of companies, research centers, universities and technical centers, offering support services for innovation, from the monitoring to the project setting up, together with research for technical and financial partners and projects labelling.
267 funded innovation projects have been approved by TECHTERA since its creation in 2005.
Linking and technologies transfer: Cart’tex
Cart’tex is the first map of rare textile skills created so far. It lists nearly 180 specific technologies
and textile skills from the 70 audited companies since its creation in 2011.
This database is a real tool for the creation of opportunities for technology transfer and development of innovation.
Communication and development
TECHTERA supports and promotes innovation of its members abroad, through participation to international fairs and scientific conferences, joint missions for technological and commercial partnerships and foreign delegations hosts.
The cluster also disseminates information to its members using a range of tools, including a monthly newsletter published in 3 languages, its social networks and a website available in 3 languages, accompanied by press releases and press packs.
TECHTERA is also a partner in a number of European interclustering projects, such as AlpTextyles, which aims to develop collaborative solutions for relocating textile value chains in the Alps so that they are sustainable, circular and innovative, and EuroBoosTEX, a joint European initiative for the textile industry to boost European recovery through the digital and ecological transition.
TechteraFab, a one-stop shop for textile innovation
To provide the best possible support for textile players in their innovation process, Techtera is offering a totem space for the industry to host projects. This platform, creating a bridge between ideation and industrialisation, aims to meet the growing demand for industrial agility.
TechteraFab hosts teams and textile innovation projects for experimentation and testing. The platform can host prototyping equipment or make it available.
